Salt Lake Vacation 2011

The drive was a long 2 day journey across about 1500 miles...

Luckily we were able to stay with Steve's mom who had just sold her house, but hadn't moved yet. She had the space and the location that was ideal for us. We stayed out late, and we slept late.

That also meant we were invited to her neighborhood dinner hosted down the street. This home is equipped with a gorgeous "play house"...

... a swing set, and a fire pit where we made smores for dessert.

We played with cousins, took lots of walks downtown, and ran ourselves ragged.

We went to Wheeler Farm to see the animals and feed the ducks.

We went to tour the Kennecott Copper Mine (which the boys LOVED).

The kids loved seeing the HUGE tires!

Then had "gourmet" cookies with the cousins.

Steve's dad and Step-mom set up a wonderful "carnival" in their backyard over one weekend and invited all the grandkids to come over for beanbag tosses, relay races, and water fights.

We all had a great time.

The Slip-and-slide was a big hit as well!

We enjoyed roasting marshmallows up Milcreek Canyon...

...followed by a nice hike up one of the nearby trails.

Brooke loves Papa. :)

We went to Hogle Zoo and got up close and personal with the Dinosaurs

and the Tigers.

Steve's mom did, in fact, get married! We are all happy for her and were so grateful to be there for the great event.

The kids love their Grandma, as you can see!

Family Shot!

Due to Patty's wedding all of Steve's siblings were in town.

We planned a great hike up Big Cottonwood Canyon with all the kids.

We even got to play in the snow!

We all had such a great time in Utah this summer. Hopefully we will be able to visit again before another 2 years pass us by!

Fun Trip! I don't remember the dinosaur at Hogle Zoo... either he is a new addition or I am not very observant.
