After preschool today, in which Ben cried for 40 minutes after dropping him off, Ben came up to me and told me he wanted me to see a happy face he drew for me. I was changing Ryan diaper so I asked him to bring it out to me. So he brought out his Magnadoodle and low and behold, he actually drew a happy face!! He's never been one to draw, he insists that I draw him a picture or my mom. I was amazed that he could do so well on his first real attempt. I didn't even guide him! Probably a lot of 3-year-olds can do this and I shouldn't be so proud, but so help me I am! He drew both of these pictures, the happy face was the one he did on his own, then when he showed me and my mom he drew another one with the body. My little artist in the making.

Actually, I believe that is a little advanced. Usually at 3yo kids, if they are drawing arms and legs, draw them coming off of the head. It's not until 4 or 4 1/2 that they start to draw a body. So, yeah, he's a smartie! :)
