Finally Settled....

Okay, I know that I told everyone prior to our move that I was going to be better at blogging, and I'm still working on it. It didn't help that we didn't have internet access until just this past Thursday....
Anyway, the drive was a long one, of course. We spent 3 days crossing the plains, and we saw a lot of corn. The boys were surprisingly well behaved and played together well for the duration. If they started getting out of hand, we had the handy DVD player to turn on. Though that didn't happen more than twice a day. We all slept on the floor Monday through Saturday until our furniture finally arrived. (I had an air mattress due to my advanced state of hugeness.) It only took until about 1PM for the movers to empty their truck of our belongings, however, since then it took about 3 days of emptying boxes before we finally had a "home." I was so sick of the smell of cardboard! The boys are now getting used to sharing a room and are doing pretty well with it. Some nights are better than others... We bought bunk beds, however after the first day of them being set up we found Ryan dangling from the ladder and changed them to regular twin beds.
We have not met ANY of our neighbors! Is that horrible? From leaving our fabulous neighbors in SLC to coming here, where no one plays in their yards (I don't why) has been a bit of a shock. We spend quite a bit of time during the week at the YMCA which is just a couple blocks away, there the boys can play in the gymnastics center and run off some energy with other kids. Ryan got a place in the YMCA preschool for the school year, so we're excited about that. Ben starts kindergarten on September first! I plan to enjoy the free time while it lasts, that is, until Brooke makes her appearance.
If I haven't talked to you for a while, let me fill you in on our decision about our housing options. We decided to rent our house out on Browning, and found a very nice family to take our place. They are from Seattle and plan to e in the area for a couple years with the Army. They seem to be a great couple and have a 6 month old. I'm excited for them to be there and I'm happy to work with them for the next few years. We are renting a duplex in Kimberly, WI which is bascially like Cottonwood Heights in my opinion. It's a nice place, a little small, but definately livable.
We feel this move has been blessed in many ways. We were able to buy a car and sell a car the same day. We sold our double stroller about 30 minutes prior to our departure. We got Ryan into prechool 2 blocks away, even though we were placed on the wait list. We have a great couple renting our house, who plan to be there at least during our required stay in Wisconsin. As well as many other blessings that have come our way. We know that this is where we need to be for the time being. Hopefully we'll live through the winter.... For now the high temps have been from 70s to 80s consistantly, can't complain!
So far the stress of the move has not put me into early labor, keep your fingers crossed. Steve just left for 2 weeks to be in Seattle for the Graduate School of Banking, so I'm on my own with the boys in a new place without good friends and family. My job is to keep my legs crossed. Wish us luck! Well, I think I've written a novel for a blog so far and I'll leave it at that for now. More to come later, I promise!
PS the picture of the boys is taken at the lake near our house, it's about a 5 to 10 minute drive from home. It's called Lake Winnebago. Ben doesn't want to go back because "it's dirty" but he had a blast while we were there.

It sounds like everything is working out nicely. That is really sad about the neighbors. Hopefully you will meet them soon. We are glad that things are well.

Love you!
