I got a pedicure yesterday as part of my birthday pampering. It was so nice to take an hour knowing that Steve was caring for the boys, Brooke was taking a nap, and I could enjoy that time to myself . Not that I don't love spending time with the family as well, but I do that ALL day EVERY day. It's even more difficult to get time to yourself when you are nursing a baby. So I really loved that hour.
While Steve stayed home last night to pass out candy, I took the boys out Trick-or-Treating. Ben ended up being a "vampire" and Ryan was a GI Joe. The reason Ben's vampire costume has to be quoted is because it was really just the white GI Joe costume, he didn't have fangs, we didn't paint his face, he didn't even wear a cape. So no one knew what he was supposed to be, but he was very proud of his costume anyway. It was pretty cold outside so we wore hats and gloves and the boys wore warm PJ's under their costumes to stay warm. By the time we got back home Ryan's smaller pumpkin bucket was so full he had to carry that last piece of candy in his hand. As soon as we got home the boys each took their buckets and dumped them on the floor to examine their loot. I loved it because I remember doing that exact thing with Steph every year. We would sort it all out and count it and compare. This year Ryan showed us each piece of candy and asked if it had peanut butter in it. If the answer was yes, he promptly placed it in Ben's bucket. In the end Ben has a TON of candy, and Ryan just has a lot.
