Stay-At-Home-Mom

It is now official... I have quit my job as a Hospital Coordinator at St Elizabeth's Hospital. After 2 months of stress over schedule-juggling and being away from home more nights than I was at home I threw in the towel.

Brooke still can't tolerate formula and Monday night she refused to take a bottle at all. Steve had to drive to Chicago Monday, but delayed his drive until the evening so he could care to the kids until bedtime, then we had our sitter come over until midnight, when I got home. The second Brooke looked at her she was inconsolable and Steve had to put her to bed at 6:00PM before leaving. We decided, with some personal revelation, that I am needed more at home than at work. For a job that really was only supposed to be one or two shifts a week, it was putting too much stress on the family, and me. And, it really wouldn't be worth it financially for only 8 hours a week...

I am excited to begin this new phase of life to focus on the kids, and of course Steve (who needs lots of attention). I left the position on good terms with my manager who encouraged me to stay in touch and try to come back in a few months when Brooke is weaned and things settle down. I am so grateful for the support of our friends and family, who love me no matter what crazy idea pops into my head and sets us off onto the next great adventure.
