Happy Un-Birthday to You!

Since my parents are visiting this week we decided to celebrate Brooke's first birthday early. That got us thinking that we should celebrate "half-birthdays" for the boys since it's 6 months until their birthdays. They were so excited to have a half-birthday party that they have been counting down the days since we thought of it.

Brooke loves her new train! She doesn't get to play with it very much on her own with the boys hovering over her every second, but sometimes that's okay...

The boys were begging for presents all day, so when it was time for opening them they were SO EXCITED!

The highlights were the light-sabers, the Star Wars Umbrellas, and the gun that shoots suction-cup bullets.

Each of the boys got a turn to blow out candles while we sang Happy Un-birthday to them.

Brooke wasn't that impressed with her chocolate cake, she preferred Papa's ice cream.

I don't know if we'll carry on the tradition, but it was fun this once. I have a hard time with the greediness that comes with receiving presents. I don't know if I want to add another holiday to encourage the selfish greed that was so apparent tonight, but we'll see how we feel next year.
