Girls Trip to Chicago!

It's been a year now since we've moved to Wisconsin! That alone is crazy, but the worst part is that I hadn't made it to Chicago (only a 3 hour drive) at all within this past year. That was, until this past Saturday when a few girls from the ward invited me to come along with them to the Windy City. What a great city! It's beautiful, and we were able to play the tourist for the whole day. We got there at lunch time, and after we grabbed a bite to eat we headed first to the Art Institute. The pieces they have are amazing, and it was awesome to see in person all the famous paintings you learn about in school. Here we are just outside.

We then walked up Michigan Ave to Navy Pier where we enjoyed a river cruise featuring Chicago's architecture.

While we were waiting on the boat we were treated to a display of the Blue Angels for Chicago's Air and Water show.

The cruise was fantastic and explained a lot about the history of the city, as well as pointing out the details of the magnificent buildings along the river. After the cruise we hailed a cab (after many attempts) and headed over to the John Hancock Observatory where we had a 94th story view of the city as well as Lake Michigan. The best part was jumping in the elevator on the way down!

Here are the 4 of us who went together: Lindsey C on the left, then me, then Ellen J and Amy S.

The lake was beautiful, and I loved enjoying it with such good friends!

We ate at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and headed home afterward. We didn't get back until 1 AM, but it was worth it. I can't wait for my next trip!
