Keeping Busy!

With my mom here in Wisconsin, we have been keeping busy try to see everything we can. Brooke is very portable and we've taken advantage of it. We've toured the mansions on the waterfront of Neenah, we've decorated for Halloween, we've shopped, we've been to the parks with the kids.... But the best thing was on Saturday we left the boys with Steve and headed to Door County. When Steve and I went a couple weeks ago we had the boys and shopping and exploring weren't on the agenda. Saturday mom and I walked through Sister Bay, ate lunch and sat on the beach in Ephraim, and shopped and had frozen custard in Fish Creek. It was a great day. It was a little cool and cloudy, but the leaves were changing and it was beauutiful. Door County was settled by the Scandanavians and in Sister Bay there is a resurant specializing in Swedish Pancakes and has goats grazing on the roof of the building. I don't know if you can see on the picture, but there are about 3 goats on the building.

We headed back in time to see the General Relief Society Broadcast at the ward. It was important for me to make an appearance due to my new calling as the 1st Counselor in the Relief Society in our new ward. They called me to that position the Sunday before having Brooke. Great timing, right? I remember meeting with the Bishop a couple Sundays prior to the call and we talked about giving me some time to get settled with the baby and everything, I guess he had different thoughts. I don't mind, I'm excited to get to know the women in the ward and I'm happy to try out a calling in R.S. rather than Primary, which is what I've been doing for the past 2 years.
Anyway, here's a short video of Brooke so you can get a better idea of what she looks like and her mellow personality. I haven't known a baby with so much control of her head and neck and other extremities. She almost never startles, compared to Ben who would jump at everything (although he's always liked to jump, maybe it was an excuse). She's a cutie and we are loving having her in our family. Actually, I should say that I am loving having her in our family. Steve hasn't had a chance to get to know her yet with both me and my mom here to take care of her. He says he's fine waiting until next week to make the introductions. The boys do love her and Ryan will sing songs to her while patting her head and tickling her belly. Ben is my little helper and will jump to do anything I ask. I just love it, and he loves knowing that he's got a job to do.
I'm still averaging about 7.5 hours of sleep a night broken up just twice to feed her and put her back in her crib. Not too shabby, let's hope that it lasts....

I'm way behind on blogging, obviously. It's after midnight but I didn't want to let another day pass before I got on to check your blog. Look who suddenly updates a ton! I stop check for 2 minutes and... :) just kidding.

She's such a pretty girl! I'm so glad she sleeps so well for you. Sleep seems to make all the difference in the world. I SO wish I could be there to see you and your family. The boys are going to be the best brothers! She'll be well protected. :)

I can't believe you went to a play group on your way home from the hospital! haha I guess it would be just like you though- every moment productive!

I'm leaving tomorrow on a mini-vacation but I'll be calling when I get back. Miss you!
